An installation of 13 different stand types across 835 stores would be a challenge enough. But factor in a global pandemic and you don’t need much imagination to see the problems this kind of project could face.
Boots asked Momentum Instore to install the new No7 furniture across a range of different store types just before the pandemic. Working together, with MI ready and preparing the logistics as the pandemic swept across the country, plans had to be amended to workaround some complicated issues. Stock still had to be picked, collated and installed across the 13 different build variations in three months, all by a team of over 300 people, during the peak of covid-19.
This kind of large scale, multi-faceted project is our bread and butter. Give us a tricky situation that requires coordinating several parties and we’re game. With the support of Insite (our project delivery reporting system) we can handle any large scale installation project.
Fact file:
- At peak, we had a team of over 300 trained people delivering the project across a global pandemic
- The complexity of the build resulted in 4,463 unique part codes with the largest build needing 1,166 individual parts
- Detailed survey of every store completed before work commenced to ensure compatibility of installation and to review access routes. All resulted presented and accessed through Insite.
